Craig Mackey
Craig Mackey is a corporate attorney with a primary focus on emerging growth companies and corporate transactions, including venture capital financings, equity offerings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and commercial real estate transactions. Since joining The Mitchell Law Firm in 2013, Craig has developed significant experience and expertise in various aspects of corporate law, representing clients throughout the entire business lifecycle, from inception and fundraising to governance, transactions, and eventual winding up and dissolution. Throughout his practice, Craig is dedicated to helping clients successfully navigate business challenges and achieve their long-term business and financial objectives.
Originally from Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Craig graduated from Virginia Tech and attended law school at the American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C.. Prior to joining The Mitchell Law Firm, his professional journey started with the United Nations mission at the Extraordinary Chambers for the Courts of Cambodia during 2012-2013, where he contributed to the Khmer Rouge war crimes trials.
Craig has been actively engaged in community service and contributes to a number of local nonprofit organizations. From 2015-2019, Craig served a Board member for Wonder Universe, a local children’s museum, and presently, Craig serves as a Board member and Secretary for Main Street Connect, Inc., a local non-profit supporting small businesses, as well as holding board and officer positions for Musica Viva! of Southwest Virginia and Kids Can Write, Inc. Craig has also regularly presented on legal topics to the student and entrepreneurial communities, including presentations to the APEX Center for Entrepreneurship at Virginia Tech and CoGro in the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center.
With significant experience in corporate law and complex commercial transactions, Craig is committed to providing accessible, client-centric legal services, and helping clients navigate complexities to achieve their business goals.
