Jeff Mitchell
Jeff Mitchell is a business attorney with a primary focus on corporate transactions, including venture capital financings, private equity raises, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, and complex limited liability operating agreements. Jeff has significant in-house legal experience and a deep understanding of public sector dynamics, providing strategic, growth-oriented legal advice to both emerging and established businesses. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with hundreds of small business owners, offering guidance on growth strategies and legal solutions tailored to their needs.
Jeff public service career includes time on the staff of Governor Gerald L. Baliles, where he focused on economic development issues. He has also served as a key political advisor to many Virginia elected officials, including former Governor Mark R. Warner. His expertise in public policy and business strategy has been integral to his leadership roles in various organizations.

Jeff has held board positions in both business and civic organizations, including serving as Chairman of the Virginia State Board for Community Colleges after appointments by Governor Warner and Governor Kaine. He was President of the Blacksburg Country Club and the Virginia Public Safety Foundation, where he played a pivotal role in fundraising for the Public Safety Memorial in Capitol Square, Richmond, Virginia. He continues to contribute to civic life as a member of the Board of Directors for Historic Smithfield, where he chairs the Development Committee, and as a former member of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Public Access Project.
Currently, Jeff serves on the Standing Committee on Legal Ethics of the Virginia State Bar and the Business Law Section Council of the Virginia Bar Association.
